Under ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program PM Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on Thursday. This was PM’s first visit to Srinagar since the abrogation of Article 370 five years ago, The PM addressed the public and unveiled several development projects worth more than Rs 6,400 crore in Srinagar on Thursday.
The Prime Minister attended the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program at the Bakshi stadium in Srinagar. He launched 43 projects that will develop a wide range of pilgrimage and tourist sites that will flourish across the country. While addressing the public, he said,” I promise that the development works which is started in Jammu and Kashmir will not stop at any cost.”
Tight solid security arrangements were made at the Bakshi stadium, even the venue were Prime Minister was going to address the crowd was draped in Tricolor, PTI reported. The preparations for PM Modi’s visit involved the biggest security arrangement in recent times. For the security of PM thousands of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed across Srinagar.
PM said ,”We see lotus everywhere in the lakes here. The logo of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, formed 50 years, also has a lotus. Is it a coincidence or a sign of nature that BJP’s symbol is also a lotus and Jammu and Kashmir has a deep connection with lotus.”
During the program at the Bakshi stadium in Srinagar, the PM dedicated to the nation and launched multiple projects related to tourist sector worth 1400 crore under Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD(Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive)scheme, including the project for ‘Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine’, Srinagar,

He further spoke about the nation tourism facilities developed in Northeast circuit in Meghalaya; Spiritual Cirvuit in Bihar; development of Jogulamba Devi Temple, Jogulamba Gadwal district, Telangana; and development of Amarkantak Temple, Annupr District , Madhya Pradesh.
A young music artist, Imran Aziz from Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantag area, has composed a song praising the Prime Minister. The song begins with the words, “Modi aayenge, Modi aayenge, Kamal khilayenge, ‘jhanda leharayenge’ (translation: Modi will arrive, the lotus will bloom, and he (Modi) will host the flag).

PM speaks on the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He says,” There was an era when law implemented in other parts of the country could not be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. There was an era when schemes for welfare of poor were implemented across the country , but our brothers and sisters of Jammu and Kashmir were deprived of the benefits. And see now, how the times have changed,” PM pondered while addressing in Srinagar.
PM Modi slams opposition’s “Parivar” attack
PM tore into opposition’s past attack on “Modi has no family” and said all you people are “Modi ka Parivar”. His statement comes a few days after the BJP leader launched a massive campaign to counter Lalu Yadav’s remarks. Majority of the BJP Leaders including Amit Shah, Smriti Z Irani , Nirmila Sitaraman attached the suffix -“Modi ka Parivar” in their username to come in stronger support on the allegations of opposition leader Lalu Prasd Yadav.
PM says, “Now my next mission is “Wed in India”. People should now come to J&K and host their weddings. The world has seen how G20 was organized in J&K. There was a time when people used to say, who will go to Jammu and Kashmir for tourism? Today, tourism in J&K is breaking all grounds. In 2023, more than 2 crore tourists have come here. Now even big celebrities across the world are also coming to J&K.”
“Today ,I got the opportunity to inaugurate several development projects related to tourism. The power of development, tourism possibilities, empowerment of farmers, and the leadership of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The path to build a developed J&K will emerge from here. J&K is not just a region, it is mukut(crown0of India. Viksit J&K is the priority of Viksit Bharat,” he said.
