The Congress on Monday continued its attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his claim that eight billion new jobs have been created in the last 3-4 years.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that the Modi government is doing “artistic statistical juggling” to claim job creation.
“At a time when India is facing a serious unemployment crisis induced by Modi, with millions of young people applying for every job, the self-appointed non-biological prime minister is rushing to respond in the only way he knows how. – to apply his own 3D- a model to disable, disrupt, and distort,” Ramesh said in a statement.
“However, the reality of the labor market is extremely bleak – with both mass unemployment and an abundance of low-quality jobs. This twin tragedy is sure to be overlooked in next Tuesday’s budget speech,” he added.
At an event where he launched several development projects in Mumbai, the Prime Minister said: “Recently, the RBI released a report on jobs. According to the report, about 8 million new jobs were created in the country in the country. last 3-4 years These figures have silenced the spreaders of false stories. The truth is that the employment growth does not match the grim reality of the economy of the era, where private investment was slow.”
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge accused Modi of weaving a “web of lies” over the eight-crore labor remark.
“The government has done clever statistical juggling to claim job creation by adopting a comprehensive definition of employment without paying attention to it. Ramesh argued that much of what is claimed as ’employment growth’ only record unpaid domestic work by women “like work”.
