Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Manager of West Bengal sustained a “major injury” in an accident, the Trinamool Congress said on Thursday.

According to the reports, citing an official statement, the Chief Minister had been taken to the state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata around 7:30 pm with cerebral concussion.
She sustained a very sharp cut over her forehead and nose which was bleeding continuously after falling within the vicinity of her home “due to some push from behind” shortly after she returned from an event in South Kolkata’s Ballygunge.
TMC said CM got a few stitches and medical tests in a government-run hospital before doctors found her condition stable to discharged.

Other leaders from opposition parties stayed united in this rather unfortunate situation and took their social media handles to share “Get Well Soon ” messages. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took hi X account to stand in support of the TMC leader. He tweeted, “I pray for a quick recovery and the best health for Mamata Didi”. Even senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, ” Wishing Mamata ji strength and a vey swift recovery”.

Also the state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar wished for a “speedy recovery” of the CM. “We wish for the speedy recovery of the chief minister. We pray to God that she recovers soon and returns to her normal health,” the BJP leader told.
“Distressed to see pictures of an injured Mamata Banerjee after sustaining such serious injuries today. Prayers for her swift recovery,” said Mehbooba Mufti of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wrote on X,” Deeply concerned to know that West Bengal Chief Minister @MamataOfficial suffered injury after meeting with an accident. Praying for her speedy recovery.”
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister-MK Stalin wrote: “Shocked and deeply concerned about the road accident involving Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal @MamataOfficial didi. My thoughts are with her during this difficult time, and I’m wishing her a speedy recovery.”

The 69-year old leader had a fall inside her Kalighat home in South Kolkata after she returned after attending a program, her family said. Her brother Kartik Banerjee told a Bengali news channel that she fell somewhere inside the house and was immediately shifted to the hospital. She was also bleeding from the forehead and stitches were required,” her brother Kartik Banerjee told a Bengali News channel.
According to the party sources, TMC national general secretary and Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee got her admitted to the hospital.
The twitter users suspects that the injured TMC leader might be playing the “victim card” as she gets heavily injured just before elections every time. Netizens are left to wonder whether this is a coincidence or a planned act? Netizens suspect a hidden act put on by Banerjee and team just before elections like every time they does. An X user wrote, ” Hope she gets well soon but it’s extremely suspicious that this happens before every elections. Victim card won’t work this time.” Another user wrote, “Instead of cleaning, wiping and dressing the wound, they are busy taking pictures. Also a very beat and clean wound. Is it Photoshopped? ”
This is the second time in the same year that the West Bengal Chief Minister was involved in a “major” accident. Earlier in January when she escaped with minor injuries after a car accident was averted during her tour of East Burdwan on January 24. As per the police records, Banerjee was returning to Kolkata after presiding over an administrative meeting in Burdwan. She said that her convoy encountered near the Burdwan city of what she claimed was as speeding car at approx. 200kmph. Banerjee’s driver applied the brakes but her head hit the dashboard, leading to swelling and concussion.
