The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on Vietnam’s tourism industry, causing a significant decrease in the number of visitors, business activities, revenue, and employment rates. This resulted in substantial losses for both the tourism sector and the overall economy of the country. Ongoing research by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on tourism in a post-pandemic world reveals that global tourist arrivals declined by over 65 percent in the first half of this year, with a near complete halt since April. This is a much larger decline compared to the 8 percent decrease during the global financial crisis and the 17 percent drop during the SARS epidemic in 2003.
The most effective way of attracting tourist to the country is free visa services. The tourism can help to increase the income of the locals of the country and the country’s economy.
