41 workers are rescued after 17 days: Uttarkashi

The biggest news of the day is ” All 41 construction workers are rescued after 17 days” the workers were trapped in a collapsed mountain tunnel in Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi. They made it through and are in good health condition. The workers came out smile and locals meet their relative. it was such a relief for whole nation. people welcomed them with firecrackers and ambulances were ready at the movement.

On 12 November a silk Yara Tunnel in northern India to collapse due to a landslide
Forty-one construction workers were trapped by debris that stretches for about 60meters in an enclosed space that measured an estimate 2km. All these days the reduce team trying making contact with them and provide oxygen, snacks, food and water through a pipe that was already in the tunnel.

The obstacles and progress.

Many obstacles came in between when they are trying rescue them. The rescue team first plan of digging through the debris excavation but that was not executed because of rocks and metal. US made augur machine was also broke down while digging 60m debris wall.

RESCUE TEAMS WITH CM
After a lot of planning and discussion rescue team made other plan to reach the works in tunnel by making an escape by digging vertically in debris. They inserted a wider pipe so that the hot food can be supplied to the workers and the necessities like medicines were also provided inside the tunnel.

On Friday last week, the operation faced setback when the augur machine broke down in the middle. it was in worst condition that they couldn’t use it again for digging. but the team started dig the debris manually. on the other side the authorities brought two dozen rat hole miners. and the operation began again. in the last few meters, the trained rescuers handled it by themselves and cleared the path. they made the hole in the tunnel which was used to rescue the people in there.

Outside the tunnel men were pulled out one by one with help of rope and ladders by the pipe of 3ft(90cm) in diameter, it was inserted through rubbles of the collapsed tunnel. it was a movement of joy for everyone around there.

About workers.

Most of them were in their 20s. After coming out the workers were greeted by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister VK Singh. before going to camera or hospital each of them was given proper checkup.

All 41 men were from different states eight are from Uttar Pradesh, 15 are from Jharkhand, five are from Bihar, two are from Uttarakhand, three are from West Bengal, five are from Odisha, two are from Assam, and one is from Himachal Pradesh.

Prime minister Narender Modi was on call after and before the operation and had a word with the workers and rescue team. he appreciated the patience of the workers and their families and bravery and determination of rescue team.

Conclusion

The people stuck in tunnel were safely bought out and the authorities help, and hard work of the rescue team paid off. They made it without a single loses. Their smiling face was the sigh of relief. There are multiple incident like this. Many times, the child playing stuck in borewell and the whole nation use to pray for them. those were kids and here it was 41 workers got stuck in tunnel. It seems all the prayer of their relative and other people was granted. The incidents like this may be, will happen again so we need to be careful and should be ready for such hazards.
