Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma was seen at half court on Friday at the first semi-final match between Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon 2024.
Sharma recently led India to victory in the T20 World Cup before announcing his retirement from the T20 format. The Men in Blue secured their second T20 World Cup trophy by defeating South Africa by seven runs in Barbados on June 29.
Sharma finishes as the format’s highest run scorer with 4,231 runs in 159 games. He also holds the record for T20 international hundreds (five). His illustrious career includes two World T20 victories: the first in 2007 as a player and the last in 2024 as a captain.
Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik also played on the center court in the first semi-final match of Wimbledon 2024 on Friday. Karthik attended the match between Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz with his wife Dipika Pallalika.
In the first semifinal match of Wimbledon 2024, the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz reached the final match of the tournament when he defeated the Russian star tennis player Daniil Medvedev 6:7, 6:3, 6:4, 6:4 in the Center Court on Friday.
The Spanish tennis player did not win the first set of the match because Medvedev dominated Alcaraz. However, the reigning champion came back and won in three sets to reach the final round of Wimbledon 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo in the 2024 Wimbledon final. Musetti will meet each other in the second semi-final of the prestigious tournament.
