Mumbai Indians, an IPL franchise owned by Mukesh Ambani secured its second victory in a row in the season after it won its previous match against Delhi Capitals. With the crucial two points on the point table, MI which was previously in 8th position plunged to 7th, surpassing RCB with a net run rate (NRR) of -0.073.
The 17th match of the Indian Premier League pitted MI and RCB against each other yesterday evening at Mumbai Indians home ground – Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RCB who had lost its consecutive last three matches was seen in a neck-and-neck contest with Indians.

Glenn Maxwell’s performance remains poor as he has only managed 32 runs in the last six innings that he played with his scores reading 0, 3, 28, 0, 1 and 0. With another duck in this match, he has come equal to Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma for an IPL record of 17 ducks.
Rajat Patidar was seen lightening up the stadium with his sparkling show of raining boundaries. He smashed phenomenal four 6s and creamed amazing three 4s. But it’s the bowlers of MI who stole the limelight, Jasprit Bumrah bagged the man of the match trophy after his wonderful array of 5 wickets which turned out crucial in the quest of defending runs. He bowled out the top scoring batsman of RCB namely Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. He also sent Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan, and Vyshak Vijay Kumar back to the Bengaluru Pavillion.

Gerald Coetzee helped Mumbai Indians to get its 2 crucial wickets after leaking 42 runs. Shreyas Gopal also bagged one wicket with an economy of 8.00. Akash Madhwal also took one wicket but leaked a major 57 runs and thus ended his 4 overs with a poor economy of 14.25.
Mumbai Indians in the next innings got to chase a big total of 196 runs. But the blistering knock of Ishan Kishan got it done for MI. The MI boy Kishan turned out to be the top scorer of Mumbai in the match yesterday. Ishan was seen delivering a rally of boundaries after he smoked five long 6s and creamed seven 4s. With this appreciable knock, Kishan mustered a good starting score of 69 off 34 balls.
With his opening batting, Mumbai’s received an exhilarating starting as he was perfectly accompanied by Rohit Sharma who scored 38 off 24, hitting three 4s and 6s each. But again, here’s the most important to talk about the sky-cracking performance of Surya Kumar Yadav who just returned to the field after recuperating from injuries. He stepped out of the crease to smash nine big boundaries – five 4s and four blistering 6. Tilak Verma was also seen in good form as he mustered 16 runs off 10 balls with three 4s.
RCB took a total of 3 wickets with none of the bowlers being economical before the batters of Mumbai Indians. Akash Deep, Vyshak Vijay Kumar, and Will Jacks took one wicket each.

After its victory against RCB by chasing a massive score of 196, Hardik Pandya has scrapped all the negative comments that he received after taking the captaincy from Rohit Sharma which left MI and mainly Rohit Sharma fans agitated.
