Overview
In a unique development, Instagram appears to be entering a phase of elevated innovation.
Instagram is actively enhancing the experience for its paid, verified users through a new feature currently in the testing phase. This innovative addition introduces a dedicated feed meticulously curated to display posts solely from verified accounts.
Meta-owned Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, disclosed this ongoing experimentation with a distinctive feed option in a recent announcement.
What does this new Instagram feature mean?
This strategic move implies that users can now conveniently access content from their beloved celebrities, influencers, and brands without the need to filter through their entire feed.
The testing phase aligns with Instagram’s ongoing efforts to refine and personalise user experience on the platform.
This feature bears a striking resemblance to that of X’s feed.
More about the new feature
This latest feed option seamlessly integrates into Instagram’s extensive Meta Verified Subscription service.
Beyond its primary function of authenticating users’ identities, the subscription offers additional perks, including priority customer support and exclusive stickers.
Mosseri announced this news during an Instagram broadcast, sharing the details through a message on his broadcast channel. Further, he also provided a visual representation by sharing a screenshot illustrating the appearance of the new feed option.
As per the image, the ‘Meta Verified‘ option is slated under ‘Following’ and ‘Favourites’ when users touch the Instagram logo.
The Meta Verified feature is not just for regular users—it is an incredible bonus only for those with the Meta Verified tag. This change makes paying for Meta Verified (which costs $11.99 on the web or $14.99 in the app) more attractive for businesses and creators who want more people to see their stuff.
What is the Meta Verified Feature?
Meta Verified is a paid subscription designed for qualified profiles aiming to establish a more substantial presence on Instagram and Facebook.
This exclusive subscription entails benefits that are accessible only to profiles meeting the eligibility criteria and completing the verification process.
The perks of Meta Verified include:
- Verified Badge: Users can showcase authenticity through a distinguishing verified badge.
- Account Protection: Enjoy elevated security measures to safeguard against impersonation.
- Account Support: Eligible profiles gain access to dedicated support for subscription and account-related issues.
- Exclusive Features: Subscribers receive access to unique stickers for Stories and Reels, adding an exclusive touch to their content.
Recently, During the Meta Conversations Conference in Mumbai on September 19, 2023, Mark Zuckerberg made a significant announcement. He revealed plans to extend the Meta Verified program to include businesses on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
In the next few weeks, there will be a trial phase for businesses on Instagram and Facebook in specific countries. Mark Zuckerberg revealed this plan, emphasising that the initiative will eventually extend to include businesses on WhatsApp in the future.
It looks like Meta is really stepping up its game!
