Dinesh Phadnis, CID actor passed away on Monday night on 4 December due to multi organ failure, after staying on ventilator support. Actor was hospitalized due to cardiac arrest on 1st December. The entire crew of CID is with the family of Dinesh Phadnis and was monitoring his condition.

Dinesh Phadnis was borne on 2 November 1966 in Bihar.  and was married to Nayana Phadnis. they have one daughter Tanu Phadnis. He was passionate for short stories and poems with acting. He was focused on his health and followed regular workout regimen to maintain fitness.

The iconic Indian crime show CID it was popular among the people from 1998 to 2018 and the memes still refreshes the memories. But one of the best characters was Dinesh Phadnis as Fredericks “Freddy “which has a special place in our heart. The show was intense and humorous and also Dinesh Phadnis’s character which fitness very well. “Fredericks, the character played by Dinesh Phadnis, was adored by viewers for his humorous exchanges and playful rapport with other characters on the show, particularly with Shivaji Satam’s ACP Pradyuman.

OTHER THAN CID

His cameo was seen in the famous show “tarak mehta ka ulta chasma”. Dinesh Phadnis was not just actor but also a writer. He also showcased his writing skills in a Marathi film and some Hindi movies. He worked in the tv series “fasale”. In 2012 he appeared as guest in “Adalat” on Sony Entertainment Television. On the same plateform he appered in horror series “Aahat”.  he even worked as “Constable Shambhu Tawde” in the series “CIF” in 2019 on Dangle TV after CID.

In addition to his television work, he also was seen on silver screen, he made notable appearances in Bollywood films such as “Sarfarosh” his debut movie with cameo was seen in the “Mela”, “Mela dilo ka”, he did Bollywood movie “Officer” with Sunil Shetty and Hrithik Roshan’s “Super 30″. He acted in marathi movie ” Bharla Ha Malavet Raktan”.

His departure is a significant blow to the television industry. the industry will always remember him as the “Freddy” of CID.

Dinesh Phadnis was hospitalized in Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital on 1st. december and was under the treatment for liver damage. He was on ventilation when Dayanand Shetty, who shared screen space with Dinesh in the popular show, updated about the actor’s health and said that he was more stable than before. His body was responding well. He was praying for Dinesh’s speedy recovery.

On 4th December Aditya Srivastava aka “Abhijeet “said he left us at 12.08 am. he further talked about the liver damage and because of that other organs were also affected, and he was not well from 2 to 3 days. several media reports were claiming that he had suffered from cardiac arrest which was not true, his costar and friend Dayanand Shetty aka “Daya” clarified that Dinesh Phadnis did not suffer from heart attack. Later even Dayanand Shetty clarified in a statement, “It is a different treatment, and I wouldn’t like to comment on it.

Last rites of Dinesh Phadnis

Dinesh Phadnis funeral is scheduled for 10.30 am in Mumbai. All members of the C.I.D team have gathered at Phadnis’s residence to pay their respects. His final rites will be performed today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. The last rites were held in Borivali East this morning.

Dinesh Phadnis will always be in his fan’s heart and will be remembered by the CID fans. There were a large number of fans of all the age group, they all wish May he find eternal peace. god give strength to his family members. After the news many fans posted on twitter acknowledge the loss.
