In a bold and brave attack, unknown miscreants vandalized the Delhi residence of Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Itehad-ul-Muslimen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi with black ink.
The incident is yet another example of attacks on Owais’ properties, highlighting concerns about the safety of public officials in the capital. Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter to express his frustration and anger at the repeated targeting of his residence. In his tweet, he mentioned his conversation with Delhi Police officials who expressed their helplessness to prevent such incidents from happening under their noses.
He directly invited Union Home Minister Amit Shah, whose office includes the Delhi Police, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, asking if the safety of MPs could be ensured. In a tweet, Asaduddin Owaisi announced, “Some ‘unknown criminals’ vandalized my house with black ink today. I have now lost count of how many times my residence in Delhi has been targeted.
When I asked @delhiPolice officials how this happened. They expressed their helplessness @ OmbirLakota , please tell us if the MPs are safe or not. He directly addressed the criminals: “To the two-headed fools targeting my house: I am not scared. Stop this savarkaran cowardly behavior and be man enough to face me. Don’t rush to ink or leave after throwing a few stones.
“This attack is not an isolated incident. Asaduddin Owais’s Delhi residence has been raided several times, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of security measures for public figures. Frequent attacks on his properties in the capital have drawn criticism from various political parties and law enforcement agencies have demanded stricter security protocols and accountability in Indian politics.
His vocal stance on various issues, including minority rights and secularism, has often put him at odds with right-wing groups and individuals.
Asaduddin Owaisi recently took oath in the new 18th Lok Sabha chamber, where he ended a controversy by ending his speech with “Jai Palestine” instead of the usual “Jai Hindi”. This unusual signature sparked debate and further polarized opinion about his political stance and priorities.
