Ranbir Kapoor’s fans are impatiently expecting the sequel to his smash flick Animal, named Animal Park.
The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is set to go into production in 2025, after Ranbir finishes his work on Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana.
According to a recent report by Mid-Day, ‘Animal Park‘ is going to enter scripting stage in February.
While Vanga is now working on his cop thriller ‘Spirit’ starring Prabhas, the writing team is hard at work on the script based on Vanga’s premise.
According to the source, “The idea is that while Sandeep shoots ‘Spirit,’ he will receive monthly updates on the script, which is primarily written by Pranay Vanga. He will actively collaborate with the writers only in the second half of 2024.”
According to a source, “Animal Park’s basic structure was ready when Animal [2023] was written.”
It was intended to be a multi-film release. The second chapter will center on Ranbir’s character, Ranvijay, and his doppelganger. The protagonist’s personal conflict with his wife Geetanjali, as well as his connection with his kid, will be explored further.
About Animal
The narrative of the Animal film is around the complex relationship between a father and son. Balbir (played by Anil Kapoor), who is frequently abroad for business, pays no attention to his kid, who adores him to the point of obsession.
Growing up, Ranvijay ( Ranbir Kapoor’s character) does everything to stand out enough to be recognized, resulting in an obsessive tendency within him. His obsession with gaining his father’s praise drives him to become a deadly criminal who everyone fears.
The film has been in the works for nearly three years. The first formal announcement of Ranbir Kapoor’s roles occurred on December 31, 2020. The Central Board of picture Certification issued the picture a ‘A’ (adult only) certificate for excessive violence, sexually explicit material, and obscenity.
What Ranbir has to say about Animal 2?
Ranbir Kapoor said in a recent interview with actor and stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India that many people were unaware of the background behind Animal while it was in development.
He explained that Bobby Deol was unaware of the narrative, also Anil Kapoor was only aware of the father-son relationship. However, there were some portions of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s script that he kept concealed.
Regarding Animal Park, Ranbir stated, “He (Vanga) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting. Now, because of the success of part one, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper, and more complex. He can do anything.”
